i failed at getting a photo of this recipe. i realized after it was too late. my sweet friend lisa gave me this recipe and we have fallen in love with it! we made it for a family bbq over memorial day weekend and it was a hit!
this recipe says to cook it in the oven in a casserole dish, but i just threw it all in the crock pot and cooked it on high for about an hour or so and it worked great.
you will need:
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion chopped
1/4 lb bacon (i ended up using the bacon that is precooked that you warm in the microwave to save me some time)
1-15oz can dark kidney beans
1-15 oz can lima or butter beans (i used both because i doubled the recipe so i used a can of each)
1-28oz can of pork and beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 T. white vinegar
1 tsp. mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
directions:
brown ground beef and onion till done, drain (i didn't use onion)
fry bacon and drain- chop into small pieces
drain all of the cans of beans
mix the sauce ingredients together
throw it all in the crock pot and mix together and let it cook!
**if you want to use a casserole dish, bake at 350 for 40 minutes**
