This is not quite ice cream, not quite sorbet. Whatever it is it's delicious! It also makes great popsicles or smoothies if you don't have an ice cream maker. It makes A LOT so unless you are feeding a crowd I would 1/2 the recipe.
Lemon Ice Cream
2 quarts milk (8 cups)
1 1/2 C heavy cream
1 1/2 C lemon juice (I used a mix of lemons and limes from our tree)
5 C sugar (to taste, I used a little less) 2 1/4 t. lemon extract (lime extract would be good too)
Mix all ingredients and refrigerate until ready to pour into ice cream maker or popsicle molds. To make smoothies you can freeze the mixture then blend with a little juice.
