Almond Pound Cake

1 stick of butter
1 cup of Crisco
3 cups sugar
3 cups sifted Cake flour
1 cup of milk
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract

Beat together the butter and Crisco in a large bowl (or stand mixer). Add three cups of sugar slowly while continually mixing. Alternate adding the milk and sifted cake flour a little bit at a time beginning with flour and ending with flour. Mix until it is just blended. Add 5 large eggs one at a time. Mixing after each egg. Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon of almond extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix til blended. Pour batter into a bunt pan that has been greased with butter or Crisco.

Place cake in a cold oven. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour to one hour and 15 minutes.
